GEOMETRIC THRILLS

Geometric fabrics and artworks are making a headline in the design world, but this Toronto store has taken the sleek geometric lines to a new level with dramatic poise! Annie Mesenge, a Parisienne who has been living in Toronto for 25 years, created Annie Aime a bright and breezy clothing boutique in Canada with colourful freshness and injected it with these industrial metal polyhedron, which have been aptly named Les Aires Noir (The Black Wings). These free standing steel frames lean against the wall without fixings, so owner and Frenchwoman Annie Mesenge can move her hand selected items around at will.

The central chunk of brick displays, echo through the pre-existing exposed brick on one wall allowing a glimpse of rawness. And take a few steps back and you notice a new dimension... Graffiti by local artist Pascal Paquette. Paquette has 'tagged' the walls in an array of  misfit colours, yet they are only obviously decipherable from a distance, but when inside give the clean lines a punch of colour. This store is edgey, and very cleverly designed!

Enjoy.
