Bocci Beauties

Omer Arbel of Bocci

It seems this week that Bocci has almost smothered our blogging and we love it! Who can resist the elegant hand blown baubles.

Did you get a chance to see our post yesterday, featuring how Bocci hand-make each glass light ball? Every time we watch the making of the 28 Series we fall more in love with these delicate beauties.

How does Bocci make these divine delicacies you ask? Well, Bocci’s design hub in Vancouver have highly skilled glass-blowers at their studio which ensures the organic shape and composition of each pendant are never the same. This complex glass blowing technique where air pressure is introduced into and then removed from a glass matrix, which is then intermittently heated and then rapidly cooled, provides a striking distorted spherical shape with a composed collection of inner shapes. Stunning!

Now that you've seen the process, we thought we would feature a few various ways in which you could fit Bocci masterpieces into your home.

And now that these images have left you begging for more... How about the new Bocci 38 Series by Omer Arbel. He really is taking it all to a whole new level with the infusion of nature and glass, the newest series in itself is an artform. We are in love!

Enjoy. Bocci.
